Italy’s Data Protection Authority sided with a Facebook user who felt the company’s response to a troll’s extortion was “unsatisfactory,” and as such mandated the social network to disclose the details of the trolling and send the victim all his data. The Italian DPA argued that “local law” was on the victim’s side, the report states. This “falls in line with an interesting trend of national courts asserting jurisdiction over Facebook and other international tech firms,” International Business Times reports.
