The European Commission is not ruling out a potential ban on facial recognition technology, Euractiv reports. “We will not exclude any option, we will look into all options and will carefully analyze existing legislation,” DG Connect Technologies and Systems for Digitising Industry Unit Head Kilian Gross said. A white paper on artificial intelligence highlights concerns about remote biometric identification in public places, he noted, with 28% of respondents supporting a ban.
