The Nagar Nigam Shikshak Sangh teachers’ union in Delhi filed a lawsuit arguing a mandated attendance application violates their privacy, Reuters reports. Staff was told wages would be withheld if they failed to download the app, which opponents said could track their location at all times. South Delhi Municipal Corporation Deputy Director of Education Muktamay Mandal, the defendant in the lawsuit, said the app logs attendance only and fears it can compromise privacy are “a misunderstanding.”
