NTT Global Data Centers, formerly known as RagingWire Data Centers, settled U.S. Federal Trade Commission allegations that it falsely claimed participation in the EU-U.S. Privacy Shield program. The settlement requires the data storage company to hire a third-party assessor to verify its Privacy Shield compliance and prohibits misrepresentation of participation. Meanwhile, a preliminary $2.8 million settlement of a data breach lawsuit against UnityPoint Health does not contain a “global cap” on the total claim amount to be paid to victims.
