As part of France’s commitment to the Open Government Partnership, its data protection authority, the Commission nationale de l'informatique et des libertés, hosted a series of workshops for civil society leaders in March. The workshops’ purpose were “to develop areas for the development of participation and actions for the protection of data and freedoms.” The CNIL published multiple reports 16 Sept. based on the input from stakeholders at the workshops separated by sector, which were unions and workers’ representatives, civil rights organizations and open source communities.
