A major overhaul of the nation’s cybersecurity laws isn’t looking likely as the Senate inches closer to clocking out for the summer at the end of the week, National Journal reports, noting privacy advocates have launched a “coordinated push” to highlight what they call a lack of privacy protections in the Cyber Information Sharing Act. A spokesman for Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) said the Senate will take up the issue Wednesday and finish by Thursday evening. Meanwhile, a group of trade associations last week sent a letter to every U.S. senator on their priorities related to data security legislation.
