Government Technology is reporting on the impending fight over the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018. The Californians for Consumer Privacy group has collected 637,000 signatures for the bill, with 159,540 signatures having been verified. The rule will need 402,468 verified signatures to be placed on the November ballot, which is expected to be determined by June 25. If the bill makes it onto the ballot, opposing groups are expected to contribute $100 million to fight against the rule.
