Robinson & Cole Associate Kathryn Rattigan, CIPP/US, wrote for the National Law Review on Ballot Question 1 in Massachusetts, which pertains to the potential addition of required open data platforms for vehicles starting in 2022. The platform would provide users many different services, but it may risk privacy based on the personal data provided to power the platform's functions. Coalition for Safe and Secure Data Spokesman Conor Yunits said the ballot initiative "will create easy opportunities for strangers, hackers and criminals to access consumer vehicles and personal driving data — including real-time location."
