A spokesperson for Northwest Territories Information and Privacy Commissioner Elaine Keenan Bengts said the office will not be looking into the more than 130 confidential medical records found at the Fort Simpson dump for another two to three months because of a backlog, CBC News reports. The records containing patients’ mental health and drug use history, as well as social insurance card numbers, were found in the dump’s salvage area in the fall of 2018. The Health and Social Services Authority has completed its investigation and sent findings to Keenan Bengts’ office. Her review is now expected to be complete in January 2020.
