The 9th Circuit Court of Appeals denied Facebook’s request to get a new hearing over a case involving the Illinois Biometric Privacy Information Act, MediaPost reports. Facebook faces a class-action lawsuit for allegedly violating the Illinois law by creating a database that consists of users’ faceprints. Facebook announced it is reviewing its options and “will continue to defend ourselves vigorously.” Meanwhile, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg said the company’s top priority is to establish the privacy program it was ordered to create as a part of its settlement with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission.
