The Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court and the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court of Review together appointed five newcomers to work as amici curiae during the National Security Agency’s surveillance reform, PC World reports. The team of appointees comprises IAPP members Jonathan G. Cedarbaum, of WilmerHale, and Marc Zwillinger, of ZwillGen, along with John D. Cline, Georgetown Law’s Laura Donohue and Arnold & Porter’s Amy Jeffress. While the panel does not include a technologist, the USA Freedom Act provides for a panel of experts at the FISA court to provide guidance on matters of privacy and civil liberties, communications technology, and other technical or legal matters,” the report states.
