| Freeman joins new firm

Morrison & Foerster LLP recently announced that D. Reed Freeman, CIPP, has joined the firm’s Washington, DC office as a partner in its Privacy and Data Security Group.

Freeman brings expertise in online and offline privacy, data security and breach notification, and online and offline advertising and direct marketing compliance counseling.

“Reed is a perfect fit…,” said Miriam Wugmeister, chair of the Morrison & Foerster Privacy and Data Security Group. “His expertise in advertising, privacy, and information security issues associated with marketing in new media will broaden the expertise of the practice and the litigation department overall.”
Freeman is regarded as a thought leader on global privacy issues pertaining to new media. He is ranked in the 2008 and 2009 editions of Chambers USA as one of the country’s leading practitioners in privacy and data security. Freeman serves on the board of directors for the International Association of Privacy Professionals. Prior to joining Morrison & Foerster, he was a partner at Kelley Drye & Warren LLP
