Vice President Senior Privacy Specialist, BNY Mellon, London, United Kingdom

Detailed Position Description:

  • Support the Head of Privacy (EMEA/APAC) and BNY Mellon Chief Privacy Officer in the execution of their duties across the EMEA and APAC regions to ensure that all Lines of Business and Business Partners fulfill their regulatory and organizational requirements to protect personal information while enabling business and technology innovation for clients and customers
  • Provide Privacy SME leadership (at the enterprise level) for significant regulatory compliance initiatives: GDPR, Indian and South African privacy laws,  E-Privacy, evolving EU Member state laws and other privacy laws which may emerge in the EMEA and APAC
  • Provide SME leadership to the business for Privacy compliance initiatives (impact analysis, delivery, templates, training) and SME support in enterprise-wide change initiatives,  DAAS, Cloud, DLP, Insider Risk, Vendor Risk Management, personal information management
  • Drive and support privacy risk assessments / privacy impact assessments and Privacy by Design (PbD)
  • Design, develop, enhance, operationalize processes,  develop metrics, implement controls (e.g., Data Inventory and Mapping, data protection impact assessments (DPIAs), Policies, Procedures, Privacy by Design, Vendor Risk and Management
  • Support the deployment of automation tools to enhance data privacy controls (SME support, training, artefacts)
  • Develop and deliver privacy education awareness trainings to internal and external stakeholders
  • Provide leadership and support to initiatives relating to international flows of personal information
  • Drive innovation in a compliant manner and serve as subject matter expert on privacy initiatives across the enterprise
  • Engage Legal, Risk and Compliance and line-of-business teams as required to manage risks and decisions and reach mutually acceptable outcomes

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a senior privacy role within financial services/consultancy/tech
  • Deep and technical knowledge of European Privacy laws and regulations
  • Strong verbal and written presentation skills
  • Excellent change management skills with ability to develop strategy, evaluate efficacy, influence stakeholders, drive implementation and measure success
  • Self-starter, self-reliant, execution and results oriented
  • Excellent organizational skills with ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines whilst delivering excellent results
  • Team player with an open and collaborative approach to delivering required outcomes
  • CIPP-E/CIPP-M/ISEB qualifications preferred
  • Knowledge of global privacy laws (EMEA, Americas, APAC)
