Privacy Manager - Americas, Ericsson, Plano, TX or Montreal, Canada

The Privacy Manager’s main responsibility will be driving global privacy framework implementation in the Americas. Tasks may include:

  • Assisting in cross-functional quarterly privacy governance meetings
  • Initiating and reviewing Privacy Impact Assessments on internal tools, processes and services using automated software
  • Providing advice and recommendations to the business on identified risks using company, customer and legal data protection requirements as well as best practice
  • Ensuring an up to date inventory of personal information assets exist along with associated data flow mappings
  • Advising on data privacy contractual wording in supplier and customer agreements
  • Creating and performing targeted privacy trainings as well as additional privacy awareness to the broader workforce
  • Reporting on metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) as part of the security maturity program
  • Responding to privacy incidents and integrating lessons learned back into the privacy framework

Additional responsibilities include supporting the Canada site as local site security manager. Tasks may include:

  • Representing Group Security in site leadership meetings
  • Assisting in managing local security incidents and security investigations
  • Establishing and maintaining a local Crisis Management Task Force
  • Performing risk assessments based on business requirements, agreements and activities

Key qualifications include:

  • Bachelors degree required
  • At least 5-7 years experience in data privacy, compliance, risk management and/or information/IT security
  • Certification in data privacy required (CIPP/C/US/E, CIPM, etc.)
  • Certification and strong background in information/IT security desired (CISSP, CISM, etc.)
  • Fluency in English (written and verbal) required

  • A self-starter and has the ability to take on projects without direct supervision
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with all levels within the organization
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and drive internal stakeholders to decisions
  • Ability to work in a virtual team environment spanning across multiple time zones
  • Knowledge of privacy legislation across the US, Canada, Latin America countries as well as the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
