Detailed Position Description:
The Amazon Health Services (AHS) Privacy team is seeking a talented Privacy Specialist to support the AHS Privacy program. This is an operational role that will support key privacy mechanisms such as privacy reviews, risk management, and incident investigations. This individual will have the opportunity to define and clarify operating procedures, develop and deliver risk mitigation plans with business stakeholders, and identify and measure efficiencies in how we deliver for our customers. The successful candidate must be inquisitive, creative, and enthusiastic about healthcare and technology, driven to deliver results on behalf of customers, and demonstrate an ability to problem-solve and unblock obstacles.

Qualifications:
Basic:
- Proven track record operating within effective privacy programs with a spirit of continuous improvement.
- Experience in writing policies and trainings, assessing risks, and responding to incidents in the health and privacy space.
- Knowledge of privacy frameworks and compliance requirements in the healthcare industry, including HIPAA.
- Ability to understand privacy risks and explain them to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 2+ years of privacy industry experience.
Preferred:
- Certification in Privacy from an industry-recognized body (e.g., IAPP, HCCA, etc.).
- Experience in a dedicated privacy role within the healthcare industry.
- Knowledge or familiarity with AWS services.
Compensation and Benefits:
Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $47,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $107,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
