The International Bar Association's African Regional Forum published a guide to data protection and privacy laws for legal professionals across African nations. The guide is based off EU General Data Protection Regulation principles while also drawing on international best practice guidelines and data laws already adopted in African nations. The guide emphasized particular areas of importance within legislation, including exemptions, individual rights, controller and processor obligations, and enforcement powers.
