The Article 29 Working Party has adopted proposals for two new guidelines on consent and transparency under the EU General Data Protection Regulation, each of which are open for comment through Jan. 23, 2018. "The GDPR provides further clarification and specification of the requirements for obtaining and demonstrating valid consent," the WP29 explains. "These Guidelines [on consent] focus on these changes, providing practical guidance to ensure compliance with the GDPR," while the transparency guidelines provide "interpretative assistance on the new obligation of transparency concerning the processing of personal data under" the GDPR.
