In this video interview from Mobile World Live, Huawei’s John Howie, CIPP/US, CIPT, discusses the difficulties many companies encounter when trying to secure connected devices. Chief among those challenges is the design of these connected devices themselves, he said. They’re often small, with less storage and power. “And as a result, device manufacturers often forget to factor in security into the software they put on them in order to try and save space,” Howie said. “And so we really need to, as an industry, make sure we don’t sacrifice security for functionality.”
