The Waterloo Regional Police Services Board announced the city’s police will be able to use a drone to assist in investigations, CBC News reports. A report released by the board states five officers have been trained to operate the device, "as well as the theory of flight, weather and privacy legislation." The board also announced a privacy impact assessment has been conducted related to the use of the drone, adding it will "follow the recommendations of the privacy commissioner at all times when operating the RPV."
