U.S. Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation Senior Counsel Shannon Smith said during an IAPP LinkedIn Live 15 April that the Senate will shortly begin its formal legislative work on the proposed American Privacy Rights Act. Smith, a lead Senate drafter of the APRA discussion draft, also took time to discuss how the House and Senate crafted the bill and addressed its most contentious provisions.
