The U.S. Federal Trade Commission joined the Department of Justice's Civil Rights Division, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission on a statement regarding commitments to core artificial intelligence principles. The principles focus on "fairness, equality, and justice as emerging automated systems … become increasingly common in our daily lives." FTC Chair Lina Khan added there is "no AI exemption to the laws on the books" and the FTC "won't hesitate to use the full scope of our legal authorities to protect Americans."
