Twitter is banning the sharing of private media, including photos and videos, of individuals without their consent, The Wall Street Journal reports. Twitter said sharing of personal media “can potentially violate a person’s privacy” and noted it can take enforcement action when images or videos are posted without an individual’s consent. Twitter also said the policy won’t apply to content from large public events. The policy has already been enforced in Australia, New Zealand, the U.K., and countries in the European Union for years.
