Silver Lake Partners Co-Founder Roger McNamee has become the latest person to voice concerns over the Sidewalk Labs smart-city project, the Guardian reports. The Facebook and Google investor urged the city to drop the project over the use of “algorithms to nudge human behavior.” “No matter what Google is offering, the value to Toronto cannot possibly approach the value your city is giving up,” McNamee wrote in a letter to the Toronto city council. “It is a dystopian vision that has no place in a democratic society.”
