India’s Supreme Court is set to hear a petition challenging the constitutionality of Aadhaar, which alleges the biometric framework is not working properly and violates the nation’s right to privacy, Business Standard reports. Since the court ruled the right to privacy is a fundamental right under the Constitution, several petitioners have challenged the constitutionality of Aadhaar, particularly after the Centre made linking Aadhaar identities mandatory for certain services. The Supreme Court agreed to hear the petition Friday and said Aadhaar-related matters would be heard before the last week of November.
