A study from Verint Systems found consumers are worried about their data privacy, but also enjoy personalized services, Netimperative reports. The survey polled 24,000 people from 12 countries, and found 89 percent of respondents believe it’s important to know how secure their personal data is, with 86 percent stating it’s vital to know if their data will be shared with third parties for marketing purposes. While the majority of consumers have these concerns, 80 percent said they enjoy services that are personalized to meet their needs, a process normally requiring data collection in order to be implemented. A Mozilla survey found more than 90 percent of participants do not know about the best ways to protect themselves online, while only one in 10 stated they feel like they have total control over their personal information on the internet.
