Malware in hotel company Starwood’s databases led to a breach of stores and restaurants in 54 different hotels, exposing victims’ payment information, the Los Angeles Times reports. “Starwood said the malware, which has since been removed, infected payment systems since as early as November 2014,” the report states, adding that the hotels’ front desk data was untouched. Meanwhile, The Register reports that credential management organization Pearson VUE’s systems have been breached by an “unauthorized third party.” The company’s Pearson Credential Manager (PCM) is employed by companies like Microsoft and Cisco.
