Singapore has released a draft cybersecurity bill that would mandate security breach reporting and require vendors who provide sensitive services to be licensed, The Straits Times reports. The bill was released for public consultation Monday, July 10. Singapore's Cyber Security Agency spent two years working on the bill and said it will help raise the country's cybersecurity posture, the report states. CSA Chief Executive David Koh said, "The current legislation, the Computer Misuse and Cybersecurity Act, focuses more on cyber crime. As the (threat) landscape evolves, it is better to have an omnibus bill that oversees the cybersecurity of (essential services) as a whole." The consultation ends August 3.
