A faulty server migration resulted in the deletion of millions of songs, photos and videos from Myspace, the Guardian reports. The social media platform announced all content uploaded before 2016 has been permanently deleted. The server migration took place a year ago, and shortly after, users began to complain about their inability to access older material. Myspace initially told users the issue was temporary, but it began to tell concerned parties around July 2018 it could not fix the problem. The company apologized for the deletion and told users to contact its data protection officer for more information.
