Startup company Segment has announced a new tool to help companies prepare for the EU General Data Protection Regulation, TechCrunch reports. While the company got its start consolidating customer data from siloed sources, its new API aims to make it easier for a company to both stop collecting customer information and remove someone’s personal information altogether, should the customer make such a request. Under the new regulations, customers will be able to request companies stop collecting their personal data and will also have the “right to be forgotten,” which would force the company to completely remove all customer data from its system.
