In an interview with The Washington Post, European Commissioner for Justice Didier Reynders offered updates on the Trans-Atlantic Data Privacy Framework following a visit to the U.S. last week. Reynders voiced confidence for a "robust solution" that accounts for "the specificities of the American legal system and the specificity of what is possible to do or not with the different actors." He said an official legal text will arrive "in the next weeks," which would commence an adequacy procedure that would lead to a finalized agreement by "the end of the year (or) the first quarter of next year, if it’s possible to exchange on the legal text before the summer."
