MIT Technology Review reports researchers from cybersecurity company McAfee devised a way to deceive a facial recognition system. A facial image of a person generated using machine learning was mistakenly identified as another person by the facial recognition tech the image passed through. The system that was tricked is similar to those being deployed at airports for passport verification. The researchers said relying on the software or other artificial intelligence without a human element introduces "maybe a greater weakness than you had before."
