Engadget reports musical software provider Muse Group will revise recent updates to the privacy notice for recording application Audacity following user concerns. The updates included language permitting the collection of personal information and sharing with third parties, including law enforcement. Users characterized the change as Muse Group installing "spyware" into the recording app. Muse Group said the misunderstanding amounted to "unclear phrasing" in its notice, and that limited data will be collected and retention limits will be in place.
