The Privacy Advisor | PwC To Hold Freedom Conference, 2 December Related reading: Data Protection Congress Update

rss_feed

While we here in the IAPP offices continue to unravel our cancelled Data Protection Congress (DPC), and look toward scheduling a replacement event, we received a message that PwC was interested in picking up at least some of DPC's pieces in the short term.

They have announced a "Freedom Conference," to be held on what would have been the final day of DPC. Their announcement is as follows:

"The cancellation of the DPC in Brussels was disappointing for everyone involved, but a necessary decision in light of the terrorist threat in Belgium. But we want to get back to business as soon as possible, discussing the things that matter most in our community.

"Therefore, on 2 December, PwC will be holding a mini-conference and party in London, to discuss the pressing challenges of data protection, privacy and security, such as the GDPR and Safe Harbour, and the balance between security needs and privacy rights and to celebrate our freedoms. If you were planning to attend the DPC and will be in London on 2 December, please contact Stewart Room for more information about how to register on this event: Stewart.Room@pwclegal.co.uk.

PwC would like to thank the IAPP for publishing this message."
