Bermudez discusses what it was like to help create Colombia's first data protection authority, emerging laws and regulations, private companies' resistance to investing in privacy, and the fact that, as he says, the privacy profession isn't quite thriving in Latin America as it is elsewhere but rather is still a "part-time" position in most cases.
