The Philippines’ National Privacy Commission is seeking answers from the Commission on Elections over alleged hacking of the electoral servers, CNN Philippines reports. NPC directed Comelec to conduct an inquiry and submit its findings by Jan. 21. The request follows a Jan. 10 Manila Bulletin report that claimed an alleged hacking of Comelec’s servers could potentially affect the presidential election in May. A spokesman for Comelec said the alleged breached information, reported to include passcodes from voting machines, was not yet available in its system.
