France's data protection authority, the CNIL, has updated its open-source privacy impact assessment software to help data controllers learn and demonstrate their compliance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation. The PIA software is intended primarily for new data controllers or those new to the PIA process. The software contains a user-friendly interface for simple management, legal and technical knowledge base ensuring the rights of data subjects, and customizable tool to help build compliance. The tool contains data from the GDPR, PIA guides and the security guide from the CNIL. Available in both French and English, the tool also helps demonstrate compliance with the CNIL.
