Privacy Commissioner of Canada Daniel Therrien shared his submission on Bill C-11, which would revamp the country's federal privacy law. In his submission to the House of Commons Standing Committee on Access to Information, Privacy and Ethics, Therrien called Bill C-11 "a step back overall" from the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act. Therrien included 60 recommendations to improve the bill, including how it addresses data control and its limitation for providing "quick and effective" remedies.
