The Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada opened a pair of investigations into cyberattacks against government agencies. The first probe will look into an incident involving the GCKey electronic credentials used by federal institutions to allow individuals to access online services, while the second investigation will focus on an attack against Canada Revenue Agency accounts. The OPC plans to examine whether the institutions met their obligations under the Privacy Act.
