The Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada filed a Notice of Application in the Federal Court against Facebook. The application asks the Federal Court to declare Facebook violated the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act, order the social media company to implement the proper measures to obtain meaningful consent, and prohibit it from gathering, using and disclosing any data that does not adhere to PIPEDA.
