Privacy advocates raised concerns that age verification could lead to increased surveillance measures. "Bills that are trying to establish inferences about how old you are or who you are based on that already existing capitalistic surveillance, are just threatening to legitimize that surveillance," American Civil Liberties Union Senior Policy Counsel Cody Venzke said.
