Ohio is pushing once again to be the federally designated drone test site, this time with a $7 million investment aimed at not only testing drones but also at getting aerospace companies into the drone industry, the Dayton Daily News reports. A reported $5 million will go toward making the Springfield-Beckley Municipal Airport into a drone test center for the military and industry if the Federal Aviation Administration approves the request. Such a move would expand the current test site from seven square miles to 200 square miles. The Electronic Privacy Information Center has filed a lawsuit against the FAA arguing the federal agency has a legal obligation to impose privacy regulations in addition to use.
