After Eric Holder said Edward Snowden’s document disclosures were a "public service," President Barack Obama has stated he disagrees with the former attorney general, The Hill reports. “The president has had the opportunity to speak on this a number of times, and I think a careful review of his public comments would indicate that he does not,” White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest said. Obama’s response comes after Holder said Snowden “performed a public service by raising the debate that we engaged in and by the changes that we made,” during an interview with former Obama adviser David Axelrod. While Holder’s public service comment gained attention, Earnest said the former attorney general believes Snowden should return to the U.S. to face criminal charges.
