Opus, a provider of global compliance and risk management solutions, partnered with research firm ESI ThoughtLab, WSJ Pro Cybersecurity, and other cybersecurity organizations to launch The Cybersecurity Imperative to benchmark the cybersecurity practices and performance of more than 1,300 organizations globally, The Associated Press reports. The study found attacks on and through third-party partners, customers and vendors to present the fastest-growing threat and predicts such attacks on partners and vendors will grow 284 percent over the next two years, while attacks through vendors will increase 247 percent. Opus Vice President of Innovation and Alliances Dov Goldman said that as companies turn to rely on vendors, they expose themselves to increased cybersecurity risk, adding, “Companies must support digital innovation with the tools and business practices to manage rising information security and privacy risks, especially those from third parties.”
