The U.K. National Cyber Security Centre warned authorities that internet-connected technology used to power smart cities is “an attractive target” for cyberattacks and encouraged them to think about cybersecurity, ZDNet reports. As these systems emerge, NCSC Technical Director Ian Levy said they should be designed and built properly because “as these ‘connected places’ become increasingly joined up, the ubiquity of the services they provide will likely make them a target for malicious actors.” The NCSC also released its fourth annual report on its Active Cyber Defence programme.
