More than 300 Nova Scotians who were victims of three privacy breaches at Nova Scotia Health Authority since 2018 could sue for compensation, CBC News reports. One of those victims, Carley Kynock-Bytheway, said she hopes a lawsuit would help her learn who her private information was shared with. Valent Legal Litigation Lawyer Chuck Ford said damages begin at roughly $1,000 per person for proving a privacy breach occurred, and there is no cap on damages for breach of privacy.
