The Minnesota Senate passed a data privacy bill sponsored by Judiciary Committee Chairman Warren Limmer, R-Maple Grove. The bill protects residents’ data privacy rights and regulates law enforcement’s use of drones and access to electronic communications. “Every innovation raises questions about how law enforcement can use these technologies to apprehend criminals while still guaranteeing that Minnesotans’ data privacy is protected properly,” Limmer said. “This bill aims to strike that crucial balance.”
