Georgia’s Republican candidate for governor, Brian Kemp, who is currently the secretary of state, has been targeted by a federal lawsuit alleging the state failed to secure its election system, CNN reports. The suit describes how a researcher discovered the personal information, including password files and encryption keys, for more than 6 million registered voters in Georgia was left accessible online. While Kemp said the state’s voting equipment "remains accurate and secure," a plaintiff in the suit argued Kemp’s office neglected basic security standards.
