Italy's data protection authority, the Garante, is urging Ireland's Data Protection Commission to investigate the privacy safeguards around Facebook's smart glasses. The Garante asked the DPC, Facebook's lead supervisory authority in the EU, to seek clarification on Facebook's legal basis of processing data collected from the glasses, especially data belonging to minors. The regulator also hopes to better understand Facebook's anonymization tactics used with its data processing.
