Irish Deputy Commissioner of the Data Protection Commission Dale Sunderland told businesses they must comply with the EU General Data Protection Regulation if they want to conduct business in the European Union, CNBC reports. "What the EU says with [the] GDPR is if you wish to provide services to people within the European Union, here is the rulebook by which you must play, so I think that's quite fair," Sunderland said. The agency plans to conclude its investigation into Facebook’s data breach over the next couple of months, she said, and added the DPC "will thoroughly and fairly assess and investigate" Twitter over its tracking practices.
