As part of its "Privacy 2040" initiative, Hogan Lovells published a guide on balancing privacy and security with public health efforts as exit strategies are developed for the COVID-19 pandemic. The guide covers the legal bases for processing COVID-19 data, the role of data protection officers and what needs to be done to ensure contact tracing apps are privacy compliant. "Our objective is to help and show how privacy and cybersecurity can be part of the solution to this crisis," writes Hogan Lovells Privacy and Cybersecurity Practice Global Co-Head Eduardo Ustaran, CIPP/E. Editor's note: IAPP Staff Writer Jennifer Bryant reported on the "Privacy 2040" initiative for The Privacy Advisor.
